First Full Day
We drove until about 10:45pm, until we reached the Rum River State Forest. We drove down a rode and found a parking area, so we stayed there last night. Unfortunately, the kitties were noisy, it rained and we were woken up by mosquitoes, so Joe and I didn't get much sleep. Jenny is apparently a heavy sleeper. :)
We decided to head out since we were afraid that we were letting in tons of bugs. We left at 6:20am. We are currently sitting at Pipestone National Monument while Joe naps. While I was starting to type this, I heard Zoe playing, so I looked over and she was playing with a live mouse.. . . Well, I guess we don't have to worry about that mouse that I saw running around in here before we left that I couldn't get to anymore. Instead of letting her kill it, I brought it out across the road and into the grass. It's definitely nice not having that problem to worry about like we did last time.

Here are photos of each of the kitties during our first night of travel.

Pickles hid in the 'kennel' underneath one of the table's benches. She didn't come out until long after we stopped moving. She's been better today. I took this photo by just sticking the camera in there and hoping to get her.

Zoe decided to hang out down there too most of the time. She now wanders the RV a bit while we are driving. She even comes up to the front meowing. If you pet her, she turns around and heads back. Apparently that was all she wanted.

This was Lucy's favorite spot before, so it looks like she's claimed it again for this trip.

Curly doesn't seem to sure about this whole thing. He lays basically wherever.

We're Off!
We spent the day cleaning and packing up the RV some more while we waited for UPS to show up with a package. It didn't arrive until about 5:45. I didn't get the house cleaned up (sorry Mary), but we were otherwise ready to go when the package arrived. We left at about 6:00, drove down 13 about 1 mile, then realized that we had forgotten Joe's wallet at the house. So, we had to head back to grab that, then we were off again! We are now heading through Jay Cooke State Park. We will be heading down I-35 until Hinckley, then taking 23 diagonally across MN until we reach I-90. Because of the late start, we'll have to find someplace to stay along the way.
So far, the cats are all doing great in the RV.

RV Trip!
Well, we have decided to drive Jenny back to Salt Lake City via the RV rather than buying her a plane ticket. We plan to stop in Rochester to visit Rebecca and Andrew and then we'll be heading through South Dakota to see the Badlands. Jenny has to be back by June 4th, so we'll have some time to check things out along the way back and even stop in Colorado to visit Fara again.

So, my job today is to work (as usual) but also to get the RV packed up and clean the house. Woohoo!

Driving Adventure
Yesterday, Joe, Jenny and I decided to go on a bit of a driving adventure. There is a national forest not far from our place, and we hadn't gone there yet, so we decided to check it out. Well, Joe printed out a little map and even drew some out. Unfortunately, it ended up not being as thorough as we needed. Also, half the roads on these maps were actually ATV trails, and definitely not traversable via car.

So, we took the road we thought went into the national forest. It basically ended, but because we took that road, we saw a Sandhill Crane. Very neat. On our way back out to the highway, we saw some Wild Turkeys. So, I think that detour was definitely a good one. When we got home later and checked out Google maps, we found out that was the road, but it apparently turned into a bit of an ATV trail.

We drove down a number of sandy roads and even went for a nice hike down one road/trail. Didn't see anything else too exciting, but did find a ton of wintergreen, so Joe took some of that home and we had some very good tea.

Some of you heard about my Boston Cream Pie, so I decided I would include pics of that as well. :)

This is the ugliest Boston Cream Pie ever. It is missing a third of it because we already ate that, but trust me, that other side was worse than this side.

The Sandhill Crane

The Wild Turkeys. They were always running from us. Oh well.
Cute pic of the kitties, cause, come on. They're pretty cute. :)

Bathing Lucy
Since it's sort of spring, the cats have been going outside again and Lucy gets really dirty. We decided to try a bath. That was fun.. She definitely did not think so though. She didn't scratch us, or even try to, so that's good.

Lucy getting a bath.

The first open windows the kitties have seen, so they had to check out the new smells.
