I got the day off for my birthday so I got to sleep in. Also, the neighbors horses were down by the fence so I went to see them. I brought some carrots too. It was raining so I didn't stay out long.

We had loads of fun tonight. After dinner we played a game that Becky F. got us for christmas, Chaturanga. It's like chess except four people can play and there's a dice associated with it. It would be too long to try to explain the whole game.
Nancy won. Then we played three games of Pitch, of which Nancy and I won two of the games. Lot's o' fun.-Miranda

Today Pat and Nancy took us for a drive around northwest Montana. We went up to Libby and through Troy. We also went by Turner Mountain (a ski hill) and went for a short hike to a swinging bridge and the Kootenai Falls off of highway 2. There is a map below that shows our general route (I believe). Pat told us a bunch of stories, which was fun. We got to see a bunch of new countryside, which was pretty. Unfortunately, the only pictures I got of the swinging bridge are blurred. The sun was setting and Joe kept bouncing.
Think the bridge at Jay Cooke State Park but skinnier and more bouncy. There was a limit of 5 persons. -Miranda

Joe and I went for a short walk in the back pasture today. One of neighbor's horses was down near the fence so he came over and I got to pet him. Not long after two others showed up. So, I sat around and petted them for awhile.
Unfortunately, I wasn't expecting them to be there so I didn't bring my camera. Maybe some other time.-Miranda

Well, we had a very nice Christmas. On Christmas Eve we had dinner together and played some cards. Sara and I went shopping for food (they always have shrimp and oysters) and we got some stocking stuffers too. On our way home we saw a Husky running around on highway so we caught it (it was quite friendly) and tried to call the number on its tag. When no one answered we brought the dog back to the house until we finally did get a hold of the owner about 15 minutes later.
We got our stockings and opened presents in the morning. Thank you all for the gifts you sent. We went to Nancy's sisters for dinner and we played cards with relatives. Afterwards we came home and watched some more Firefly.
It was weird and a bit sad not being home for Christmas, but we had a nice time.
