Kalispell
Well, we make it to Kalispell after some fun events on the road... Sara had just had her oil changed in her car but her car has been burning through oil for some reason. So, we were driving and after about 50 miles the oil light comes on. This is at about 4:30am in the pouring rain.. of course. So, they look at the dipstick as best they could using the headlight and it looks like it's low, so they put a quart in. Well, after 20 more miles, the oil light comes on again. So we get to the next exit and look at it, and the oil looks actually too full... Anyway, it turned out that it probably wasn't low the first time, but they couldn't really tell in the dark/rain. We just dealt with seeing the oil light flash, flicker or stay on steady for most of the trip. Sara and I did a little shopping yesterday so she took her car in to the Honda dealer and it turned out that the sender that tells the light to go on, was bad. She had just had that replaced in April, so they replaced it for free. Yay.
Well, now Joe and I are in Kalispell, back at Pat and Nancy's and we'll see what we do from here. :)

On the Road Again
So, we left 8am Tuesday morning for the Twin Cities and had an 8 hour lay over down there. Then, we got on the bus to Billings, MT. We arrived here at 11:30am Wed. We are now in Billings at Joe's sister's (Sara) place where we will nap and such until we leave to go to Kalispell at 2am tonight. :) How exciting. Sara works until 2, hence the leaving in the middle of the night.
We're not really sure what's going on after that....

Missing Entries
There were some problems with rangenet the last couple days and our website was basically deleted. The last backup that there was, was from Feb. Hence, the newest entry being from Feb. But, we're heading back to Montana in a week to get in the RV and maybe do some more traveling. We'll see how things work out.

More Problems at Work
So we got the engine put back in the yarder. I worked up the last trees they brought up from that set and as I was backing up to clean more of the road off, I looked behind me and my machine was smoking. Turns out my fan belt was busted. There was something wrong with my heating hose too, so I had to run to town to get those two things. The road we're working on and the county road off the highway we drive on were pure ice. So, we had put on tire chains that morning to get up our road. I got to take those off then when I got back put them on... all by myself. Fortunately, it didn't take me too long to do, but it was so slick right inside the gate that my using the pickup for support while walking on the ice made the pickup slide about a foot.

Problems at Work
Well, we had some mechanical problems on Friday. At about 3 the carraige stopped working. Pat couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so we had to load it up in the pickup and take it home. He fixed that on Saterday though, so we were back up and running on Monday. He actually does have another carraige in case something does go wrong with the one he's using.
Well, today at about 10:30, something with the yarder's upper engine broke. Some housing and something to do with the transmission... Anyway, we had to use the delimber to take the upper engine off after they unhooked everything. I then passed it around so Pat could pick it up with the loader and put it in the pickup. He took that to town while Tom, Brandon and I stayed up there so Tom could work on some other issues and so Dennis could keep clipping trees. Basically I stood around and did nothing until 4:30. Fun fun. But I got paid for it.
Anyway, no work for me tomorrow. Unless I have to do some errand running for Pat. Like picking up a transmission from one of his old machines. We'll see.
